Getting started
Build on Tarifflo from your own backend, or let an AI assistant work through the hosted MCP connector.
1. Create an API key
Sign in to Tarifflo and open Developers → API keys. Choose the scopes the key needs and copy it: the full key is shown once. Keys start with tflo_test_ and send to the CBP certification environment; live keys (tflo_live_), for production CBP, are not issued yet. Only an organization owner can manage keys.
2. Make a request
The current API is v2, served from https://api.tarifflo.com/api/v2. It takes and returns JSON; send the key in the X-API-Key header. Every v2 endpoint is in the API reference, generated from its OpenAPI document.
curl "https://api.tarifflo.com/api/v2/filers" \
-H "X-API-Key: $TARIFFLO_API_KEY"3. Get CBP answers
Requests that go to CBP answer right away with an id. CBP's answer arrives later, POSTed to your webhook and signed with your organization's webhook secret. See Webhooks.
Versions
v2 is current. v1 is deprecated: only single classification and tariff rates remain there, under /api/v1, and they keep working while you move.
